The Nokia C7 has the looks to be the perfect mainstream smartphone and running the new Symbian^3 OS you’ll find it has the smarts to match. But how did the Nokia C7 come to be? Read on to find out with our Nokia C7 review of the year…
The Nokia C7 first came to our attention back in June when it was leaked onto the internet with a clear message, this was the iPhone killer. This mainstream smartphone not only looks great but would be running Nokia’s brand new operating system.
It took a little while for the Nokia C7 to become an official device, being announced at this year’s Nokia World 2010 conference back in September. However, it only took a month for this handset to hit the markets, making it one of the quickest launches of the year.

The Nokia C7 is a super slim and svelte smartphone that comes with a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and is powered by the Symbian^3 OS. This means you can create three unique Homescreens and can quick and easy access to all your favourite social media sites and apps.
We managed to get our hands on a Nokia C7 review unit shortly after the launch and found it to be a highly appealing smartphone. Similar in size and weight to the Nokia N8, due to them sharing the same screen size and technology, the Nokia C7 differs by having a thinner body and more rounded edges.
The Nokia C7 can afford to be slimmer as the camera component while still a powerful 8-Megapixel CCD isn’t as top-end as the 12-Megapixel camera found on the Nokia N8. Other differences between the two include storage, with the Nokia C7 having 8GB of integrated memory that can be upgraded via microSD cards to 32GB. The Nokia N8 offers more memory, at 16GB, and also offers microSD cards of up to 32GB.
Summing up the Nokia C7, we said ‘overall, we’re really impressed with the Nokia C7. It may lack the headline-grabbing camera of the Nokia N8, but if you’re on a tighter budget it’s nearly as capable. We also love the new design direction, with the curvy style and high quality materials sure to win the Nokia C7 lots of new fans.’
What do you think of the Nokia C7, is it the most innovative smartphone you’ve seen in 2010, or if there were things you’d change, what are they?
