1) Use the Variable Scope. not only does it give you excellent vision at longer ranges, and gives you the best chance to hit your targets when you want to.
2) Ghost is one of the most useful perks you can have as a sniper. Without a silencer on your primary gun, when you shoot, people will know where you are. Ghost gives you a chance to hide in "plane" sight (hur hur I'm clever) from enemy spy planes.
3) Don't use Scout Pro if your secondary is going to be ballistic knives. There is a such thing as switching to your secondary weapon too quickly, and that is it.
4) Use the L96A1. In addition to looking cool using that bolt-action power, it also gives One Shot, One Kill on the biceps. None of the semi-automatic sniper rifles do that, even the PSG1.
Tricks:
1) What does that variable scope do for you? Well, it basically acts as the anti-nerf to what Treyarch/JD2020 did to the sniper rifle. Your bullet will go where you're aiming. Don't miss.
2) In short ranges, you're better off always switching to your secondary just because of QS/NS mechanics. Sure, you can look cool and try it, but if you care more about winning/KDR, get in the habit of using your secondaries, or switching to them immediately after taking your shot, even if you hit.
3) When in the enemy spawn, wait for the second guy. What do I mean? watch this.
Generally Good Ideas:
1) MAP AWARNESS. This is the single most important part of sniping in this game. Because of the absolutely shitty spawning system in this game, you're constantly under threat, even behind your teammates in the area you just spawned. Take your time and be aware that at any point, you can be under attack.
2) Your teammates are decoys. No, really. Let them enter all possible threat zones first. If you're ambushed, it's more difficult for you to respond and kill your enemy before they kill you. Let them take the heat, find the baddie, and bang.
3) You only have one shot, make it count. Because of the maps your enemy will probably be able to find cover/a building before you can take a second shot. Pick and choose, aim, and fire.
4) People are stupid. I can't stress this enough. Your enemies are stupid, your teammates are stupid, you're stupid, I'm stupid, and the designers of this game are stupid. What does that mean? We all make mistakes, don't get stressed or frustrated when things aren't going your way. You won't always win, dominate, or get that sick killstreak. Learn from said mistakes and do your best not to repeat them, and when your enemies make mistakes, capitalize
5) If you're using scout pro, the increased speed of switching weapons includes having an assault rifle/smg/lmg if you decide to switch out your pistols for one of those weapons. Which is ALWAYS a good idea, especially considering how underpowered Pistols are in this game. (thanks goes to quakers)
